    My Online School Essentials

For most of us, 2020 has been a year full of online EVERYTHING. At this point doing classes online feels like second nature to me now that I am used to doing class and work all from home. These essentials will help make the at-home grind a little bit easier.    1. A Lap Desk  This year having a good working set up became more essential than ever. But having so many meetings online suddenly I could not sit in one spot for 8 hours a day on the computer. I don’t think I could ever have a desk job LOL. The way I handled this was by moving to…

Shows to Binge Watch This Summer

Okay, summer has been here long enough that if you’re like me and most of my friends then you may or may not be running out of ideas of things to do to keep entertained. Let’s be honest, we all probably should get a job or some new hobbies but if you enjoy ending your day watching a good show (or three), here are a few of my suggestions!  This list is in no particular order other than the order I thought them up in. I have no idea how to even begin to rank these shows. Queer Eye If you haven’t started watching Queer Eye yet, where have you…

Why You Need to Purge Your Social Medias

Summer is my favorite time to reset and recharge. There’s plenty of time to rest and change things you aren’t loving about your life. This weekend after listening to my first episode of the Him & Her podcast, (hosted by The Skinny Confidential AKA Lauryn Evarts Bostick and her husband Michael Bostick) I was inspired by some of the ideas they brought up involving how they consume social media. Something Lauryn said that really stood out to me in this particular episode is that she only allows herself to view five Instagram stories a day! Can you even imagine? (The amount of self-control!) How much more time in the day…

    BFFs & Thx

Starting a blog, whew! I haven’t been this excited about something in a while. I get excited pretty often (if you’ve ever seen one of my weekly vlogs I say I’m excited about something probably every other day), but not like this. And my absolutely amazing friends were right there helping me every step of the way. I want to say a special thank you to each of them and share a lesson I learned this year. For years I have wanted to start a blog (I actually had a WordPress blog back in the day before I even launched my YouTube channel – but that was short-lived). When I…

    Lessons From My Freshman Year

It’s crazy how nine months away from home can change you so much! Here are a few things I learned from my freshman year at the University of Texas. How you manage your time will make or break you When I hear stories of people pulling all-nighters to finish their projects or cram for their exams I cringe. There is nothing worse than wrecking your sleep schedule for something you probably should have started two and a half weeks ago. I probably take scheduling to the extreme and I know not everyone wants to finish things early as I do, but some planning can make all the difference when it…

    My Goals For Summer

Every summer I have always loved making bucket lists. Especially in middle school I would make these super Tumblr sounding lists with literally hundreds of things to do, like build a sandcastle and stargaze (smh). These are both perfectly fine things to do but seem somewhat cliche. If you’re looking for something more listicle like that, you can check out my YouTube channel, All That Jess, where I shared a list of 100 Things To Do in the Summer. It’s a fun video that has some helpful ideas, but that’s all it is – 100 ideas to maybe possibly do. I realized if I want to feel good at the…
